Independent Reviewer Puts Greenworks Pro PowerAll to the Test
Since the launch of our PowerAll™ platform at Walmart, Greenworks has earned attention from both DIY enthusiasts and professionals looking for a complete tool platform that combines performance, convenience, and value. Greenworks has always prioritized innovative engineering, and we’re proud of how our power tools match up against even our fiercest competitors. But we don’t want you to take our word for it—we want to let PowerAll tools speak for themselves.
Recently, an independent tool reviewer called the Torque Test Channel put some Greenworks PowerAll Pro impact wrenches through full hands-on testing, sharing those insights with their over 600k subscribers and evaluating the tools on power, size, weight, cost, build quality, and overall performance. Their results offer an objective look at what professionals can expect from our growing 24V PowerAll Pro platform.

The Five Biggest Takeaways
The Torque Test Channel (TTC) purchased and reviewed three different Greenworks Pro impact wrenches; the IW5370, the IW5550, and the IW5800, representing three different levels of power, performance, size, and price. Their process for reviewing tools is thorough, including multiple rounds of testing, disassembling the tools to examine their interior components, and graphing their power against the competition over time. We recommend watching the video above for a complete walkthrough, but we noticed a few trends in their comments.
Here are the main points:
Takeaway 1: Pro-Grade Performance
TTC found many things to compliment about the professional-grade performance of Greenworks Pro tools. For tradespeople across a huge variety of industries, having a powerful impact wrench is critical to getting the job done. Breakaway torque, durability, weight, and size are all areas where Greenworks Pro tools rise to the challenge.
“These specs do mean business,” TTC began, and after initial testing continued to say “So really, haven’t seen anything but encouraging results from these tools quite yet.”
They were complimentary of the IW5800, which they refer to as the mid-torque: “This thing is going to get a lot of crusty stuff done, including the vast majority of lug nuts, in most climates included."
But where Greenworks Pro truly stood out was with the IW5550 ‘mini’: “None of that though is really the story in my opinion. The mid torque is good, you probably need to have one of those around. But this mini; this thing sort of rips.”
How does it rip? Well, the IW5550 has the same high-quality build as other Greenworks Pro impacts, with reinforced and upgraded specs to deliver more power from the brushless motor. In their independent testing, TTC found that when scored on working torque, max torque, size, and value, the IW5550 blows away the competition.
“This new GP [Greenworks Pro] taking the top spot in cordless among over 40 models we’ve bought and tested to-date.”
Takeaway 2: Surprisingly Low Prices
In partnership with Walmart, Greenworks Pro tools are available across the country at an impressively low price. TTC seemed impressed with how affordable our competitive tools were, noting “We bought every impact wrench we could find at the store because frankly, at these prices, it would be harder not to.”
“That’s not just half price—” they continued, making a specific comparison to purchasing three comparable tools from a top competitor at a different store. “That’s almost $100 less than half.”
The price of professional tools matters, especially to tradesmen considering swapping to a new brand. Throughout their review, TTC repeated that Greenworks Pro tools were outperforming many more expensive options and going head-to-head with tools that cost hundreds of dollars more. That’s not just a surprisingly low price—it’s a change to how professionals shop.
Takeaway 3: Professional-Grade Build Quality
Next, TTC disassembled our impact wrenches to examine the internal quality of the components used. To quote, “When a tool checks every box—cheap, powerful, feature packed—the first question is actually going to be its durability, and that’s a fair question to have.”
Greenworks got our start in Outdoor Power Equipment, and we remain the world’s best battery OPE for landscapers. We bring that same level of rigor to our power tools, with pro-grade components like our diecast aluminum gear housing and metal-reinforced battery slides. TTC agrees, and goes on to say:
“Nothing in these tools screams cost-cutting. If anything, some of these design choices are surprisingly premium.”
Premium quality is part of our brand DNA, and Greenworks uses in-house engineering, design, and manufacturing to guarantee the quality of our tools. As TTC observes in their review, our design decisions including the gauge of the wires used, the O-ring sealed hammer case, the grease type and amount, and the windings on the motor all contribute to offering professional-grade durability and a longer tool life.
Takeaway 4: The Versatility of USB-C Batteries
An additional benefit of choosing Greenworks 24V PowerAll tools comes from the batteries themselves, which recharge fast via USB-C ports. TTC observed, “We didn’t buy or need to buy a charger, because… every new battery in their line charges over USB-C, at 65 watts. That’s actually faster than many brands’ included chargers.”
PowerAll doesn’t just offer faster charging speeds. Since we’ve designed these ports to be bi-directional, these batteries can be used as power banks to recharge your devices on the jobsite, on the go, or during power outages.
“This USB-C, these are 2-way charging. Which means all the newer batteries can also charge other things you have super fast. The fact that we don’t own a proprietary charger for these and we’re charging two at a time with laptop chargers… it’s pretty incredible.”
For users who prefer a traditional slide-in charger, single and double port options are also available, in addition to superchargers that offer faster recharging for heavy use.
Takeaway 5: Incredible Overall Value
Value is hard to measure, and everyone has their own perspective on what makes something valuable. For us, providing outstanding value with each tool means designing longer-lasting, more powerful, easier to use tools, then working to get them in your hands at prices that delight. Greenworks Pro tools go head-to-head against the competition in impartial testing, at a fraction of the price. Here’s what TTC has to say about their favorite, the IW5550.
“The second-most-powerful compact impact wrench on the planet that we know of is the Greenworks Pro you buy from Walmart for $80.”
To us, that is what value is all about. Add in the versatility of USB-C charging and the over 200 tools all powered by the same 24V PowerAll batteries and we believe that the PowerAll lineup is the best overall value available.
Are Greenworks PowerAll Tools Right for You?
We built our PowerAll platform for everyone, from the busy professional who needs powerful impact tools to the new homeowner looking for their first battery-powered tool kit. Greenworks Pro tools overperform, at an affordable price point you’ll love.
“This is like, a bit of a paradigm shift,” TTC says. “If someone is successful with this and pulls this off: making decent tools, [low] prices, not locked into one brand’s charging.”
A paradigm shift is exactly how we see PowerAll, and we’re glad to see Greenworks Pro tools rising to the occasion. Impartial and objective third-party reviews are a critical part of making informed shopping decisions. We’re confident in our tools, so we’re always happy to see more reviewers learning why everyone is swapping to Greenworks, from landscaping professionals to DIY weekend warriors.
“This is a big problem for big brands,” TTC concludes. “Maybe tradesmen won’t be switching overnight, but [for] homeowners and weekend renters, Walmart suddenly has a lineup that’s hard to ignore.”
